It’s coming…

The 91st Academy Awards 2019 will arrive in just a few heartbeats, and there are many movies nominated this year. You’d better make sure you watch them all before the Oscars go on TV.

It’s a good thing you can do this on Hulu, from absolutely anywhere in the world. If you’re having problems accessing the popular streaming website from outside the US, the solution is just around the corner.

NordVPN – the online security provider that lets you do exactly that, besides throwing in many more advantages specific to a VPN.

All you need to do is this:

  • Sign up on the official NordVPN website and create an account
  • Download the app for one of the many devices listed there
  • Launch the VPN client and select a US server
  • Grab some popcorn, crack open a cold one, and enjoy Hulu from outside the US

1. Watch the Oscars on Hulu with NordVPN

Before we get to the top picks for the Oscar nominations this year, let’s go over some of the reasons you actually need NordVPN in order to use Hulu.

First of all, with NordVPN at your beck and call, you’ll get around any restrictions while on the internet. You might live under an oppressive regime or you might be afraid of having your traffic tracked, and your identity exposed.

You no longer have to fear this with NordVPN. Watch Hulu from anywhere in the world, no holds barred, no limits, and no restrictions whatsoever.

The second best thing about this online security provider is that it eludes all ISP surveillance. Most of the times, your Internet Service Provider will throttle your speed if they notice suspicious activities or if your network activities fall under certain risk categories.

Besides changing your IP, NordVPN also encrypts your traffic so that your ISP won’t be able to throttle your speed even if they wanted to. But they’d have no official reason to do that, because they won’t know what you’re doing on the web.

2. Best VPNs to watch the Oscars on Hulu from outside the US

The cream of the crop is represented by the triad NordVPN – CyberGhost – IPVanish. These three VPNs have changed the way we look at the online security provider industry. And they provide unrestricted access to Hulu.

They have become standards by which we appreciate other virtual network providers, the models we compare others to.

Let’s take a look at what each of them is all about.

NordVPN

Based in Panama, a country with no data retention laws, where privacy and anonymity are held as the highest standards, this VPN has it all.

Here’s what you can expect from NordVPN:

  • More than 4800 servers located in 60+ countries
  • Top of the line encryption based on multiple security standards and handshakes, the like of which even government agencies use. The AES-256-bit encryption is used by the NSA and the CIA to protect their most confidential data, and NordVPN’s whole security is based around it as well.
  • Excellent 24/7 customer support
  • Mid-range prices
  • True no-logging policy
  • The best speeds in the industry
  • Hulu is completely unlocked

CyberGhost

This online security provider is based in Romania, a country with almost non-existent internet censorship laws. Most internet companies in the country focus entirely on high speeds, and this has brought Romania in the top 3 countries in the world when it comes to internet speeds.

These are the features of the elusive CyberGhost:

  • Superluminal server speeds. You can watch HD and 4k media content without noticing any lag or delays. Ever.
  • Very good encryption standards
  • Doesn’t keep logs of any kind
  • No leaks detected
  • Torrenting allowed and fully supported
  • Prices fit for all pockets
  • Up to 7 simultaneous connections
  • Unlocks Netflix and, more importantly, Hulu

IPVanish

This is yet another industry leader that has proven time and time again the excellence is sweet. They have plenty of features and options that most of their users love, and they wouldn’t change their VPN provider for anything in the world.

Here are its characteristics:

  • 10 simultaneous connections, 2-3 times more than what other competitors offer
  • Custom apps for the most relevant devices
  • Extensions for the major browsers
  • Excellent zero-logging policy
  • Extremely good for streaming Netflix and Hulu
  • Top of the line upload speeds
  • Servers in 61 countries
  • 24/7 live chat support
  • All-around good speeds for torrenting

3. Oscars nominated movies you can watch on Hulu

1. Ready Player One

This movie received the nomination for best visual effects this year, and with good reason as well. Steven Spielberg’s filmography has never been more perfectly illustrated than with Ready Player One. This is a futuristic tale about the creator of a virtual reality world called OASIS who challenges anyone brave enough to find his Easter Egg.

The movies received a score of 7.5 on IMDB.

2. Isle of Dogs

The Oscars 2019 movie nominated for the best-animated features, Isle of Dogs is a hilarious stop-motion animated tale set in the Japan of the future. In this world, all the dogs have been exiled and forced to live on Trash Island.

The director, Wes Anderson, writes about the charming story of a boy’s adventure on finding his lost dog. The whole plethora of animation features, editing, and the sound design are entirely worthy of an Oscar here, since they communicate much of the story.

It received a score of 7.9 on IMDB.

3. Minding the Gap

Hulu’s own documentary, Minding the Gap received the Oscar nomination for best documentary feature. With a score of 8.2 on IMDB, this film brings into the spotlight the life of a middle-class family’s maid in Mexico City. In the early 1970s even.

Minding the Gap follows in its predecessors’ footprints to devise a film that talks about many different issues like child abuse, poverty, teen parenting, racial prejudice and stereotypes, drug abuse, and much more.

What seemed like a simple documentary about skateboarding turned into a real roller-coaster of emotional depth, contemplation, and courage to face up to the rough reality.

4. RBG

Another Oscars nominated movie for best documentary feature, RBG presents the unexpected events that take place in the life of the U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Leaving behind a most imposing legal legacy, she also becomes a very unlikely pop culture icon, a rock star.

The movie shows how her early legal showdowns paved the way for a better world in which women were better defended, where they held a much higher status, and where they influenced the course of things.

Its IMDB score is 7.6.

All in all, you can normally watch any Oscars nominated movies on Hulu, but only if you are located on US soil. The streaming provider only works in America, unfortunately.

As such, you have to use a VPN in order to access Hulu from outside the US. Your options are PureVPN, NordVPN, CyberGhost, and finally IPVanish.

Have fun streaming!
