ITV unblocked in five minutes:
If you want to get started right away, simply follow these instructions to watch UK ITV in the US in about five minutes:
ITV is a very popular UK TV channel that host many original British TV shows and movies. If you are in the US then ITV will not be available to your through regular means. Similarly, if you are from the UK but visiting the US then you will not be able to watch ITV though normal means.
In this guide I will teach you how to watch ITV from the US.
In order to get started watching ITV in the United States you will need the following things:
The VPN method is the easiest and most efficient in order to get ITV running in the US. A VPN will allow you to switch the IP address of your device to a UK IP so that when you visit the ITV website or app it will believe that you are actually located in the UK and as such allow you access.
First, you will have to find a good VPN that works with the UK and has fast severs capable of streaming HD content. I recommend NordVPN.
Once you have signed up for the VPN service you will have to download the app and install it on your device.
Then finally you will have to open the VPN app and choose a UK server and press “Connect”. After around 10 seconds you will be connected to a UK server and your IP will now become a UK IP.
After this you can go to the ITV website and log into your online account, as now the website will believe that you are in the UK.
If you are originally from the US and not visiting from the UK then most likely you don’t have an ITV account just yet. In this case you will have to sign up for one on the ITV website. You can do this now without problems with the VPN app and your UK IP address.
I recommend you use NordVPN if you want to watch ITV in the US. This is because NordVPN has very fast UK servers and has tens of thousands of IP addresses to use, meaning that on the odd occasion ITV bans an IP you will have a huge number of others at your disposal.
NordVPN also has a kill switch feature meaning that in case your VPN connection breaks for some reason it will not allow your device to reconnect using your regular connection – as such avoiding getting detected to be really located in the US (and being banned) by ITV.
Most other VPNs – especially free VPNs – do not have a kill switch feature.
NordVPN is also excellent for streaming due to it’s very advanced server infrastructure.
NordVPN only costs $2.75 per month if you pre-pay for one full year.
If you don’t want to use a VPN then you can unblock and watch ITV in the US using a Smart DNS service.
First, you will have to find a smart DNS service and purchase a subscription. Usually such a subscription costs around $5 per month. You will then similarly get an app you need to install on your device.
Using Smart DNS is a bit more complicated than using a VPN because you will have to manually adjust and replace your DNS settings on an operating system level.
Smart DNS unfortunately does not come with encryption so all your internet activity will still be completely exposed.
I honestly recommend you stick to the VPN method because there you won’t have to manually edit any system settings, and a good VPN such as NordVPN is even cheaper than a Smart DNS service.
NordVPN will also fully encrypt your traffic making it invisible to anyone other than you (including your ISP).
And that’s it for this guide. Just follow these steps above (VPN method is recommended) and you can be ready to watch ITV in the United States within just maximum 5 minutes (or less).
