  • Click here to visit ExpressVPN and sign up
  • Get the ExpressVPN Chrome or FireFox extension
  • Open the extension and choose USA from the map or list
  • Go to any website previously blocked by FortiGuard
  • Enjoy full access to all web content

Important: You will have to use the ExpressVPN Chrome or FireFox extension to unblock FortiGuard. FortiGuard will not allow you to install any VPN apps on your computer, but you can still add browser extensions.

Important: You may have to try connecting to several different servers before it will unblock FortiGuard, as many VPN servers and IPs are bocked. Also, remember to install the browser extension and not the app itself, as otherwise it will not work.

Fortinet is a security company that offers top-notch protection services to its users. Among these, there’s the FortiGuard Antivirus, FortiGuard Antispam, and last but not least, the FortiGuard Web Filtering.

The last one is a system devised with the express purpose of restricting access to certain websites deemed harmful or unsuitable for public use. The program is usually used in public libraries, in schools, and other types of businesses.

However, while the vast majority of websites it blocks are justifiably restricted, there are also those that pose absolutely no sort of risk that are banned. This is because FortiGuard Web Filtering incorporates some pretty strict and tight security protocols.

And now you’re in this situation where you want to access Facebook or watch the latest episode of Game of Thrones on your favorite movie series website, but you find out the antivirus is blocking your access.

What do you do?

You can solve this issue by using one of these two methods:

  • Proxy sites
  • Virtual Private Networks, VPNs for short

We’ll talk about each of them and see which is best.

If you are only interested in the solution and don’t want to read the entire article then below you can find the short version:

Follow this to bypass Fortiguard web filtering (works 100%):

1. Download and install ExpressVPN (just $6.99 per month – 30 days 100% Money-Back Guarantee).

2. Open ExpressVPN.

3. Connect to a server.

That’s it. Works 100%.

1. Bypassing FortGuard Web Filtering using VPNs

You should know by now that VPNs are specifically devised to crack open previously inaccessible portions of the web through cloaking mechanisms known as encryption protocols.

However, this is just a minuscule feature that an online security provider offers you. The vast range of options and tools you have at your disposal is mind-boggling. Let’s just say that a VPN is a privacy purist’s wet dream.

Say goodbye to web-tracking, hacking attempts, geo-blocked content, and government agencies following your every move. You will become truly anonymous, invisible to the public eye.

Your IP address will be covered with plenty of security layers, and your traffic will appear to originate from a different location than where you really are. As such, putting aside the sheer difficulty of intercepting any information, it’ll be nigh-impossible for anyone to find out your identity or real location.

Obviously, bypassing the FortiGuard Web Filtering is child’s play to the cyber-advanced tech-tools that a good VPN has in store.

However, you need to carefully pick apart the scrap, the riff-raff from the diamonds. This is to say that there are good VPNs, and there are bad VPNs. To be more specific, stay away from those that are free of charge, and the ones that talk big but fail to deliver.

Take a look at this list of the top 3 Virtual Private Networks. They are the very best in this field, with a vast database of users that keep coming back for more:

1. NordVPN

Based in Panama, a paradise for privacy and anonymity, NordVPN has proven time and time again that it can provide excellent services at accessible prices, and that it can hold the number one position as if it were a walk in the park.

With military-grade encryption at your beck and call, a DoubleVPN feature that secures your connection with two times the encryption power, SmarDNS potential, and very fast server speeds, it’s safe to say that you won’t want anything else.

It has more than 4500 servers stationed in 60+ countries. This makes for an incredible flexibility and versatility when it comes to accessing geo-blocked content or bypassing web filters.

Of course, you can stream Netflix as well. As for the run-of-the-mill FortiGuard Web Filtering, it’s like a skinny, gaunt, and barely-standing peasant with a pitchfork fighting against a bear-like full-plated warrior swinging a great-sword.

There’s just no comparison between the two.

2. IPVanish

IPVanish brings unmatched encryption and security protocols that will make you literally vanish from the visible web. Your IP address is covered by a digital shield that will fry and boil alive anyone who dares come close to it.

This VPN is praised by users all around the world for how swift and easy to use it is. Moreover, the customer support system is among the best on the market, and this has always been one of the white marbles on IPVanish’s slate.

To put your trust in this online security provider is to entrust your privacy and online identity to a five-star intelligence agency that’s always completed its missions with utmost precision. You can relax, lean back on your chair, and take a deep breather, knowing that you have nothing to worry about anymore.

3. CyberGhost

One of the top 3 VPNs on the market, CyberGhost keeps to some firm principles and delivers only the very best services to its users.

Founded in 2011 in Romania, this online security provider has the fastest servers that you can find. The speeds that you’ll experience when using their services will make you crave for more and more each and every time.

This is because Romania’s ISPs are known for emphasizing speed above all else. As for privacy guarantees, it all boils down to Romania being very lax when it comes to data retention laws.

This is to say that there are no such laws in place, to begin with.

The zero-logging policy CyberGhost enforces has earned its reputation time and time again as being completely reliable and trustworthy.

Customer support is incredibly swift and responsive, and the platform itself is very easy to use.

While it has less than double the number of servers that NordVPN has, CyberGhost will certainly not disappoint.

These three VPNs embody the values of excellence, professionalism, and trustworthiness perfectly. You will find nothing better out there.

Does not work with vpn

Hi there. FortiGuard will sometimes detect if you have a VPN provider installed or if you are connected to a VPN server. To overcome this you will have to do the following: 1. Install a VPN Chrome extension such as the NordVPN extension or ExpressVPN extension. As this is just a browser extension and not an app installed on the computer, FortiGuard will not block it. 2. You may have to try out a few servers until you will find one that will not be blocked. Many VPN IP addresses will be blocked by FortiGuard but a lot will still… Read more »

My school has blocked proxy sites and VPN’s. the only thing that works is if there is another URL that’s different but takes you to the same place.

tell me plz

They can’t ban all proxy sites and all VPNs, it’s a cat and mouse game and it’s unlikely they will ever manage to keep track of all VPN servers. They also can’t really ban a “VPN” itself, as a VPN is essentially a collection of servers. They can ban some of the IP addresses of some of the servers. They can, however, ban people from installing third-party applications on the school computers, this also includes VPN apps. This is why we have recommended in the article to install a VPN browser extension, as usually, extensions can still be installed, even… Read more »
