Avast Secureline is a VPN program that the antivirus company Avast has debuted with not long ago. It’s a mediocre solution for those looking to become anonymous on the internet and regain their privacy.

This article is aimed at those who are uncertain as to how exactly is this product activated, and where you should get the Avast Secureline license key. You’ve probably seen by now that the internet is full of websites promising the so-called “crack” for this VPN.

In other words, they give you the chance to download the license key so that you won’t need to pay for a subscription. Needless to say, everything has a fucking price. Including the things advertised as ‘free’.

Those so-called free Avast SecureLine VPN license key links are usually filled with malware, adware, viruses, germs and sometimes fucking AIDS that will cripple your computer, steal your data, and destroy your online persona – the very things you were trying to avoid in the first place.

In other words, don’t waste your breath on them! None of them will give you anything more than trouble.

As for the activation process itself, there are few simple steps you have to follow in order to finally be the “proud” user of Avast Secureline.

Upon purchasing a subscription, you will have to activate the product. To do so, look for an activation code or a license file on your email address. If it’s not there, open up your Avast Account.

We’ll explain how to do this using all three of these methods:

  • With the activation code
  • By using the license file
  • Through the Avast account

Pro tip: Avast SecureLine VPN is honestly not even that good. It has low speeds and doesn’t even work with Netflix. If I’d be you I’d get a refund and instead buy a real premium-quality VPN such as NordVPN.

1. With the activation code

First things first.

You should make sure that you have the latest version of Avast Secureline VPN installed on your computer before proceeding with the following steps.

The activation code that you need should have been sent on the email address that you used when you purchased a subscription. Here’s what you have to do:

  • Open your order confirmation mail
  • Scroll down to where the activation code is shown and copy it in your clipboard
  • If you can’t find it there, just go to your Avast Account and look for it there
  • Open-up the Avast Secureline app on your desktop by double-clicking on it
  • Go to Menu – My licenses
  • When the Subscription screen appears, click on Activate
  • Paste the activation code that you copied a few moments ago into the text box and click on Activate SecureLine
  • In the case that you have multiple licenses or activation code for interchangeable products, click on one of the listed items to select your preferred license. Then, click on Select
  • Finally, click on Ok. You’ll be returned to the Subscription screen, and your Avast Secureline license has been activated. The subscription is active, and the expiration date will appear under this notification

2. Using the license file

You should receive the license file in a confirmation email. You can use it to activate Avast Secureline as follows:

  • Open up the confirmation mail
  • Right-click on the attached License.avastvpn file in order to save it or just download it by pressing the respective button. It depends on the mail client you’re using
  • Select a location to save the file, usually the Desktop, and click on Save
  • Open up the Avast Secureline client on your desktop by double-clicking on it
  • Go to Menu – My licenses
  • On the subscription screen, click on Activate. For now, these are the same steps as with the activation code
  • Now, click on Insert a license file option on the next window
  • Select the License.avastvpn file you saved on your desktop and click on Open
  • Click on Ok to return to the subscription screen. The Avast Secureline VPN is now activated, and the subscription is running as it should.

3. Through the Avast account

No matter what happens, all your Avast licenses will appear in the Avast account registered with the same email address you subscribed with.

To activate it with this method, follow the next steps:

  • Open up the Avast Secureline app on the desktop by double-clicking on it
  • Go to Menu – My licenses
  • From the Subscription window, click on Activate
  • Now click on Log in with your Avast Account instead
  • Now enter your credentials, and click on Log in. Or you can just as well log in with your Facebook or Google accounts.
  • Click on Ok to return to the subscription menu. You’ve just activated Avast Secureline using the Avast account method, well done.

There you have it – the 3 methods you can use to activate Avast Secureline on your desktop. However, keep in mind that these will only work with the standalone VPN application.

If you want to activate your license via the Avast Antivirus, the steps are a little different, so I’m going to sum them up here:

  • Open up your confirmation mail and either copy the activation code in your clipboard or save the license file on your desktop, depending on what you receive from the staff team
  • Right-click on the Avast icon in the system tray, and then select Subscription Information
  • From the My licenses screen, select Enter a valid activation code option. Alternatively, if you want to activate it through the Avast account, choose Log in to your Avast account option
  • Then, either type down the given activation code or click on the Select a file option, and look for the license file you just downloaded from your mail.
  • All done, your Avast Secureline VPN is not fully activated, and your license information should appear the Licenses on this PC section. You’ll be able to see its expiration date as well

4. Settle for the best

Now that the main issue has been dealt with, and you know exactly how to activate your Avast Secureline license, as well as avoiding the “free license codes here” hoax websites, I’d like to add something to the mix.

You shouldn’t lower your standards by choosing Avast Secureline as your VPN provider. Sure, its services can be said to be good enough for the day-to-day use, but if you know what’s good for you, you’ll put aside this third-rate online security provider and look elsewhere.

For example, take a look at NordVPN, the Panama-based VPN that’s been dazzling the world ever since its inception. With military-grade encryption, 24/7 customer support, incredible speeds, and over 5000 servers worldwide, it’s the wet dream of any privacy enthusiast.

Then, there are IPVanish and CyberGhost as well, extremely high-quality online security providers that will deliver unquestionable protection, guaranteed anonymity, and a quantum cyber shield to secure your privacy and your data.

Go big, go NordVPN!
